Cedar Springs Waldorf School is an independent Waldorf school with programs spanning Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. We have been educating children in the Sierra Nevada foothills of El Dorado County since 1989. Beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, our new program, the Cedar Springs Private Education Association will be available to serve even more families in our surrounding area.
Our goal at Cedar Springs is for children to fully develop their own unique capacities and to be inspired with a lifelong love of learning. Our dedicated and trained teachers transform education into an art that educates the whole child—head, heart and hands.

We aspire to develop thinking, caring individuals who improve the world through their thoughts, spoken words and deeds.
Our alumni go on to excel in high schools such as Sacramento Waldorf School, El Dorado, Ponderosa, Union Mine, Oak Ridge, Jesuit, St. Francis, El Dorado Adventist Academy, as well as other public and private high schools in the area. High School Faculty and Administrators continually notice and are impressed with our student body’s unique thirst for knowledge, ability to think critically and developed social skills.

WHAT DO ALUMni and families SAY?
Ariel K. Salzer
Attorney at Law CSWS Alumna, Class of 1998 My Waldorf education continues to be a source of pride. The more I mature, the more I understand and am grateful for the sacrifices my parents made to send me to Cedar Springs. Waldorf education protects the child and allows him or her to truly experience the kingdom of childhood. But at the same time, it prepares the child for the challenges of adult life.

Chiropractors Alumni & Current 6th Grade Parents My husband and I chose Waldorf because as parents we sought an education for our daughter that would develop a passion for learning and a love of the world. These, more than anything else, are the qualities that allow a human being to be successful in whatever direction they choose for their life.

Alumni Parent We cannot imagine a better place for our children to be. Cedar Springs is like home. We love the community of people, the faculty and, of course, the exceptional education our three children are receiving. We strongly believe education should support mind and body development. Waldorf accomplishes this utilizing their developmental based theories and by respecting each child in their education process.

High School Student CSWS Alumna, Class of 2016 As I look back on my time at Waldorf, I am very struck by the amount of impact it has had on my life and who I am as a person now. I strongly believe that it has helped me to feel comfortable with myself and has provided me with a confidence I had previously lacked before we made the switch from public school to Waldorf.
