Creating nature mandalas is a beautiful outside activity for your children. It requires focus and engages their creative will. N A T U R E M A N D A L A I N S T R U C T I O N S
During your walk or outside play have the children collect small stones, leaves, pinecones, sticks, flowers, etc.
Carefully place your found objects in all different types of patterns. They don’t have to be circular; they can be any shape and size that you wish. You may need to do it alongside them for the first time and model it for them.
Ask your child what kind of mandala they want to make e.g. leaf, stone, pinecone, all of the above and they ask how they will create it.
Tell a story about an outdoor creature, a frog, snail or worm for example. Ask them how they might make a maze for the creature to walk through.
