Hear Ms. Inge sing the circle below.
Song
In May we go a wandering to hear the birdies sing
The pansies and the lilies are dancing in a ring
Birds and butterflies are soaring in the sun
Oh isn’t this a happy time for you and everyone

Song
Come dance with me in the springtime round and round good friend of mine
Face the center everyone hold your hands up to the sun

Come dance with me in the springtime round and round good friend of mine
Winter cold has gone away bright spring sun now rules the day

Come dance with me in the spring time round and round good friend of mine
Birdies now will build their nests for the little eggs to rest

Poem
Mummy bird and Daddy bird
They loved each other true
Said mummy bird to daddy bird
Build a nest please do
Build it straight build it strong
Build it on a branch this long
and Daddy bird went flying

Song
Fly Daddy bird fly
Fly through the sky
Flying over hill and dale
Flying over mountain vale
Fly Daddy bird fly

And Daddy bird saw a great tall tree (fingertips touch top of head)
And under it was a river and in the river were fishes
And the fishes swam in and out (make swimming motions with hands)
“ Here I will build a nest and when our babies come out of their eggs,
they will be able to look down and watch the fishes swim! “   (bending over to see fishes)

Fetch some twigs and weave them in (imitate weaving motion hands)
Fetch some leafs and weave them in

Song
Weave and weave and weave a nest, weave a nest for me
Weave and weave and weave a nest , Weave it in a tree

“Mummy bird , Mummy bird
Come and see the nest I have build” (waving “to come here” with your hands)
Mummy bird came flying
and she shook the nest and she poked the nest (imitate shaking and poking with hands)
And said: “Oh no Daddy bird! (finger motion for “no”)
What happens if brother wind comes and gives a big blow (big blow with your mouth)
Then my nest will go round and round and splash into the water and my nest will float away
Daddy bird build another nest!
Build it straight build it strong (lift arms to 45 degree angle and make a fist)
Put it on a branch this long (one arm straight the other hand touches a point on stretched  arm)

At last Daddy bird build another nest in a tall tall tree
And it pleased Mummy bird
And Mummy bird sat on it laid three little eggs
And after a little while she had her baby birdies.

Poem
What does the birdies say in the nest at break of day
“ Mother please let me fly away, fly away”
And mother says: ” You must wait a little longer until your wings are stronger”
But one fine spring day they spread their wings and all flew away.

Poem
In the bright laughing dew
So we dance I and you
Like the stars in the sky
So we dance you and I
And the leaves in the trees
Do delight us and please
And the wind in the grass
Sing a song as we pass

Song
Here we go round the maypole high
The maypole high the maypole high
Here we go round the maypole high
Let coloured ribbons fly, see coloured ribbons fly.
