These are all of our circle songs and verses for Spring. We sing or speak each of them every day in the order presented but please use them in a way that best suits your family and home rhythm.
We begin each Circle with this verse:
Our hearts open wide, love shines deep inside
Stars Moon and Sun shine on everyone
On Earth we now stand, holding all our hands.
Good morning dear Earth, good morning dear Sun
Good morning dear Stones and the Flowers everyone
Good morning dear Creatures and the Birds in the trees
Good morning to you and good morning to me.
The Earth is firm beneath our feet
The Sun shines bright above
And here I stand so straight and tall
All things to know and love.
After speaking the verse, you may listen and sing along to all the verses below.
Mother Earth mother Earth
Take our seed and give them birth
Father Sun gleam and glow
Until the roots begin to grow
Sister Rain sister Rain
Shed your tears to swell the grain
Brother Wind breath and blow
Until the shoots begin to grow
Earth and Sun, Wind and Rain
Bring to gold the living grain
Little rainworm deep underground
Eats the earth without a sound
But come raindrops falling down
He climbs up so he will not drown
Waits until he sees father sun
When he sees him, the little rainworm goes back down.
In the springtime bunny rabbits go hopp hopp
In the sunshine little birdies go chirp chirp
Daisies nod to daffodils little children run uphills
And fall down in the springtime
Mary, Mary quiet contrary how does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockellshells and pretty maids all in a row.
Little bees work very hard making golden honey
Drinking nectar from the flowers when the days are sunny
Where buzzy buzzy honey bees sum sum sum
We do not have time to play sum sum sum.
A farmer once planted some little brown seeds
With a pit a pat, pit a pat pat
He watered them often and pulled out the weeds
With a tug and a tug and a tug tug tug
The seeds grew tall and green in the sun
With a push push here and a push push there
And a beautiful plant grew from each one
(and the farmer takes very good care of all his garden and protects the little plants even from the caterpillars)
Caterpillar creep around, round and round and in and out
Once you are feed come spinn your bed go to sleep deep deep
As a caterpillar dies waking as a butterfly.
I know a little butterfly with tiny golden wings
He plays amongst the flowers and up and down he swings
He dances on the honeycups so happy all the day
And then he spreads his tiny wings and softly flies away
See the little butterfly as he gayly flatters by
Sitting on a buttercup than once more goes flying up
Welcome little butterfly, we love to see you flatter by
On your journey safely home with a message from the sun
(Can you tell me what the message is? It’s springtime hooray!!! )
Poem (spoken at the end of morning Circle)
We dance with the flowers, we sing with the sun
Our love we give to everyone.
